Jodi White, LPC

Hello & welcome to my therapy practice.

Do you have a history of unhealthy relationships? Do you struggle with love addiction and the symptoms of codependence? As a licensed therapist I provide virtual therapy for women in Texas who want to examine what’s not working and why.

My ideal clients are ready to explore dysfunctional relationship patterns, which requires addressing self-defeating behavior and thinking that’s often rooted in societal and cultural conditioning, family messaging, or traumatic experiences.

This isn’t easy work, but you already have valuable internal resources (such as character strengths and inherent worthiness), that play a crucial role in the therapeutic process. Therapy helps you tap into these resources, build a foundation for change, and get reacquainted with who you are meant to be. The process of uncovering your Authentic Self lies at the heart of therapy and recovery, and healthy relationships with others aren’t possible unless you truly know yourself first.

In addition to extensive background in Trauma Therapy, Yoga Therapy, & Mindfulness, I have specialized training in:

Pia Mellody’s Post-Induction Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)

Attachment-Focused EMDR

Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT)

Kelly McDaniel’s Mother Hunger® group facilitation

  • As a licensed therapist who offers coaching services, it’s important to note the differences between coaching and therapy:

Therapy focuses on mental health. In my therapy practice we examine your history (as far back as childhood) for information that can help you understand current behaviors and thinking patterns. Therapy also utilizes treatments such as EMDR to help you process trauma and create new neural pathways.

Coaching does not address mental health or past traumas, and instead focuses on the present and the future. Coaching helps you learn from previous experiences, but its purpose it to help you set & reach goals through action steps, follow-up and accountability.

Therapists are licensed mental health professionals governed by a state licensing board. Licensed therapists must follow a strict code of ethics (including confidentiality/HIPAA) and meet specific standards of education and practice experience prior to licensure.

Coaching does not require a license, certification, or specific level of education. Even if a coach is also a licensed therapist, they are not operating as a therapist in the coaching relationship. A licensed therapist cannot ethically be your therapist and your coach.

  • I do not accept insurance in my practice. However, I am considered an out-of-network provider (OON). To find out if you have OON benefits, contact your insurance company and ask the following questions:

    • Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health care?

    • If so, what is the deductible?

    • Once the deductible is met, what percentage is covered by my out-of-network benefits?

  • My fee for a 50-minute therapy session is $240.  Please note that initial sessions are 75-minutes in length and the rate is $355.
